Getting started

How do I log my period?

From the Home tab, tap Log period in the quick actions row. You can also tap any day in the Calendar tab and pick a flow level in the day detail sheet. The first time you log a fresh period (i.e., yesterday had no flow), Caelyn marks that day as the start of your new cycle.

How do I log symptoms, mood, or pain?

Open the Calendar, tap a day, and use the day detail sheet. You can log symptoms, mood, pain levels, medications, and free‑text notes — all stored privately on your device.

When do predictions become accurate?

Caelyn improves with data. After about three completed cycles you'll see meaningful averages and patterns; after six or more, the confidence label moves up. Until then, Caelyn falls back to your initial averages from onboarding.

Privacy and data

Where is my data stored?

On your device, and nowhere else. Caelyn runs no server, has no user accounts, and does not sync your cycle data to any cloud. See the Privacy Policy for the full picture.

Can I sync across my devices?

Not in this version — Caelyn is local-only, so your history lives on one device at a time. To move to a new iPhone, use Settings → Export data on the old one and Settings → Import data on the new one; a Caelyn CSV restores your history in full. A private, opt-in cross-device sync is planned for a future release.

How do I back up my data?

Settings → Export data saves a CSV or PDF of everything you've logged, and you keep the file. Since there's no cloud copy, deleting the app or erasing your iPhone removes your history — so export before you switch phones or reset your device. A good habit is exporting once a month.

Can I lock the app or set a PIN?

Yes. Settings → Privacy → App Lock (Face ID / Touch ID) and App PIN. For higher‑risk situations you can also set a duress PIN that silently and permanently erases all Caelyn data if entered instead of your normal one, and an "auto‑erase if inactive" option — all under your control.

How do I export my data?

Settings → Data → Export data. Choose a date range and format (CSV is free; PDF is available with Caelyn Pro). Caelyn generates the file on your device, and nothing leaves until you tap Share.

How do I delete my data?

Settings → Data → Delete all data. This wipes every entry, your profile, and your settings — the action is double‑confirmed and cannot be undone. Deleting the app from iOS also removes everything.

Does Caelyn work with Apple Health?

Yes — opt in from Settings → Apple Health. iOS shows the standard HealthKit permission sheet so you can choose exactly what Caelyn can read or write. You can revoke any permission at any time in iOS Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices → Caelyn.

Caelyn Pro subscription

What does Pro unlock?

Deeper insights and charts (cycle & period length, symptom frequency, mood, pain, and temperature), the full year‑in‑review, PDF cycle reports for your doctor, the trying‑to‑conceive fertility dashboard, pregnancy/postpartum and condition modes (PCOS, endometriosis, perimenopause), and home‑screen, lock‑screen & Apple Watch widgets. Pro is available monthly (with a seven day free trial), yearly, or as a one‑time lifetime purchase, and can be shared through Apple Family Sharing. Core features — period & cycle tracking, predictions, symptom & mood logging, calendar, reminders, and CSV export — are free forever.

How do I cancel?

iOS Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions → Caelyn → Cancel Subscription. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep Pro access until the end of the period you've already paid for.

How do I get a refund?

Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in, and request a refund for the Caelyn purchase.

I subscribed on another device — how do I unlock Pro here?

Open the paywall in Caelyn (Settings → Unlock Caelyn Pro, or any locked feature) and tap Restore purchases. As long as you're signed in to the same Apple ID, your subscription will be recognized.

Troubleshooting

My predictions seem off

Predictions are based on the cycles you've logged. If the dates of recent periods are wrong, edit them in the Calendar tab — predictions refresh automatically. You can also adjust your average cycle and period length in Settings if you know they're different from what onboarding picked up.

Reminders aren't firing

Make sure notifications are allowed in iOS Settings → Notifications → Caelyn. Caelyn schedules reminders on your device — Do Not Disturb, Focus modes, and quiet hours (10 PM – 7 AM in Caelyn) can delay or suppress them. Medication reminders use Time Sensitive interruption level so they break through Focus when allowed.

Face ID lock isn't working

If your device has no passcode set, biometric lock can't be enabled. Add a device passcode in iOS Settings → Face ID & Passcode (or Touch ID & Passcode), then re‑toggle App Lock in Caelyn → Settings → Privacy.
