Terms of Use

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using CitiZen, you agree to these Terms of Use. CitiZen is operated by SmallPanta ("we", "our", "us"). If you do not agree, do not use the app.

2. What CitiZen Is

CitiZen is a study and preparation tool for the United States naturalization (citizenship) process. It provides:

• Practice questions for the civics test, in several languages
• English reading and writing practice
• A voice-based mock interview
• Progress tracking and study reminders
• An interview preparation checklist containing general information about documents to bring, what happens at the interview, and steps before and after it

3. Not Legal Advice, and We Are Not Your Representative

CitiZen is an educational tool. It is not a law firm, not an immigration consultant, and not a preparer of immigration forms. Using the app does not create an attorney-client relationship or any other representative relationship.

We do not:

• Tell you whether you are eligible for naturalization, or for any exception or accommodation
• Interpret your personal history, including any arrest, tax, travel, marriage, or voting history
• Prepare, complete, review, or file any form for you
• Communicate with USCIS on your behalf

Only a licensed attorney, or a representative accredited by the U.S. Department of Justice, can do those things. If anything about your situation is unclear to you, consult one before your interview.

4. Government Information, and Its Limits

Information in the app about documents, procedures, deadlines, and what happens at a USCIS appointment is drawn from publicly available U.S. government sources. We make a good-faith effort to keep it accurate and to record when it was last checked. However:

• The information may be incomplete. USCIS states that its own document list is not all-inclusive and that an officer may ask for other information and documents.
• Government rules, forms, fees, and procedures change, sometimes without advance notice, and the app may be out of date between updates.
• Your own USCIS notices and correspondence are the authoritative source for your case. Where the app and your notice differ, follow your notice.
• Nothing in the app is a promise or prediction about how USCIS will handle your case.

CitiZen is not endorsed by, affiliated with, or connected to USCIS, the Department of Homeland Security, or any other government agency. Test questions are based on publicly available USCIS study materials.

5. Free and Paid Features

Some features are free and some require CitiZen Pro. Which features fall into each category may change at our discretion, and the features available to you at any time are those shown in the app.

6. Subscriptions and Purchases

CitiZen offers optional in-app purchases:

Monthly Subscription:

• Billed monthly at the price displayed at the time of purchase
• Renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period
• Manage or cancel at any time in your Apple ID account settings

Lifetime Access:

• A one-time purchase granting access to paid features
• Non-refundable except as required by applicable law

Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase. Prices vary by region and may change.

7. Intellectual Property

All content in CitiZen — text, graphics, interface design, and software — is owned by SmallPanta and protected by copyright, except for material drawn from publicly available U.S. government sources.

8. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app
• Use the app for any unlawful purpose
• Redistribute or resell content from the app
• Attempt to circumvent access restrictions or security measures

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

CitiZen is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that:

• The app will be error-free or uninterrupted
• The questions will match what appears on your actual test
• Any information about documents, procedures, or deadlines is complete, current, or correct for your particular situation
• Using the app will result in passing the test, or in any particular outcome in your case

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, SmallPanta will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profit, or opportunity, arising from or relating to your use of or inability to use the app.

Without limiting the above, and to the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for:

• A missed, delayed, or rescheduled USCIS appointment, interview, or ceremony
• A missed filing, response, or appeal deadline
• Attending an appointment without a document that was required in your case
• The denial of, or any delay in, any application or benefit
• Any action you take, or do not take, in reliance on information in the app
• Any consequence of information in the app being incomplete or out of date

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of the above may not apply to you. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to the app at any time, without notice, for conduct we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users or to our business.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may modify these Terms. Changes take effect when posted in the app, and the "Last Updated" date above will change. Continued use after that constitutes acceptance.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and of the state in which SmallPanta operates, without regard to conflict-of-law provisions.
